Was lucky it stayed dry as was forcasting light rain on the night :) . Overall when xmas is round the corner it's a great experience to enjoy. Not only within the Castle but the views over the city now with the xmas Wheel , shows and market all up and running it really is a site to see and was thouroughly enjoyed. Took us around a 1 hr to get round all routes and see all but there is a cafe , bar and gift shop to stop in if you desire. Have also done a little snap shiot video of the night below for you to view. (Don't watch if you plan on going :) ) .

"An ancient university, breathtaking medieval ruins, and quaint coastal villages"

This was a bit of a un-expected trip and was offerred for free by Rabbies Tours due to a mix up over a previously booked trip so i wasn't about to pass it up !!

First stop was going to be in a little fishing villiage called "Anstruther"

Anstruther is a small coastal resort town in Fife, Scotland, situated on the north-shore of the Firth of Forth and 9 mi south-southeast of St Andrews. The town comprises two settlements, Anstruther Easter and Anstruther Wester, which are divided by a stream, the Dreel Burn

From here we had a quick little stop at a place called "Crail".

Really pretty harbour with lovely old buildings all the way down to it. Great little cafe on the way down called the Crail gallery and cafe. Shack selling lobster and dressed crab so you can sit around the lovely old stone harbour to eat it, if you like.

From here it was a straight run to the Beautiful town of St Andrews.

Well known for its Golf courses ,St. Andrews Castle, with its medieval bottle dungeon which once held John Knox during the great siege of 1546–7, Close to the castle is the University of St. Andrews, founded in 1413 and of course the amazing site of the St Andrews Cathedral ruins which really is a site to see.

After having some well deserved Fish & Chips our next stop was going to be the small village of "Falkland".

Falkland, previously in the Lands of Kilgour, is a village, parish and former royal burgh in Fife, Scotland, at the foot of the Lomond Hills. Some of you may very well recognise it as it was featured in "Outlander". Within the Falkland palace You can wander through the historic orchard, complete with a living willow labyrinth and also see the oldest real Tennis court within the ground. It's a £13 entrance but the grounds really are beautiful to see.

Now it was time to head back to Edinburgh after a thoughourly enjoyable day (Especially as it was free , however i did get the feeling they just wanted to give the other 1 passenger some company :) , either way i wasn't complaining) , just had time for a quick stop at the bridges before returning back home.
